Hello! Hi, it's me, Dr. Sybil.
✨I want to capture this moment … I just submitted my last Doctoral paper and presented my last presentation ✨And although I have a few additional weeks of lectures, the rest should flow smoothly because I worked hard during my maternity leave to get ahead so I can be more present at home.
Earning my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcCHM) hasn’t been easy. I completed my prerequisites including Chemistry, Chinese language, and a business course during my pregnancy & maternity leave with Evelyn in 2022. And have managed my Doctorate program during my pregnancy & maternity leave with Margaux in 2024 … and I’m tracking to graduate Summa Cum Laude!
My official graduation won’t take place until Summer 2025, but I wanted to capture what life looked like when I finally accomplished my goal & completed my doctorate program. Two small babies (almost 2 years and a 4-month-old), tired eyes, freshly postpartum, but an overflowing heart!
After many hours of online lectures, numerous presentations, debates, research on clinical studies & legislation, revisions on pages and pages of papers, periodic tears, and numerous sacrifices from myself, Jared and our families … I am thrilled to introduce myself as Dr. Sybil Van De Velde (DAcCHM, L.Ac., MCM, Dipl. Acu.)!!
My diploma will arrive in early 2025 and will proudly be hung on my wall at The Wellness Studio (by my dad to make sure it's level & perfect 🤪!)
