Cupping Therapy
Cupping Therapy is a therapeutic technique used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) by creating a suction which draws skin and underlying tissue upward.
Practitioners place cups, typically made of glass or plastic, on the skin, creating a vacuum that pulls blood into the treated area to stimulate the body's natural healing process. The suction motion improves blood circulation, ease muscular tension, and promote cellular repair.
Cupping is frequently used in muscle recovery and to treat chronic pain, and is often applied to the back, neck, and shoulders. While this technique leaves distinctive, temporary circular marks caused by broken capillaries, it is considered a safe, non-invasive method for alleviating discomfort, often leaving patients feeling relaxed and with improved range of motion.
“Healing begins when circulation improves—cupping simply gives the body a push in the right direction.”
