Pregnancy Care

Acupuncture provides safe, evidence-informed support throughout all stages of pregnancy, from early gestation through postpartum recovery. Treatments are tailored to the physiological changes of pregnancy and designed to support both maternal and baby's well-being.

Prenatal Acupuncture may help alleviate common pregnancy-related symptoms, support optimal function of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, and promote emotional balance during this time of significant physical and hormonal change.

Common Symptoms for Pregnancy Acupuncture Include:

  • Fatigue and low energy levels

  • Low back, hip, and pelvic girdle pain

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Gastrointestinal discomfort, including heartburn and bloating

  • Sleep disturbances, stress, and anxiety

  • Support for breech or posterior fetal positioning

  • Preparation of the body for labor and delivery (read more below)

At The Wellness Studio, we understand that fertility can be a deep and sensitive topic. That's why we find the root cause of your symptom(s) based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Theory. Each patient receives a tailored Acupuncture treatment for their presenting symptoms - this is not a "one size fits all" ordeal.

Postpartum Support

Acupuncture offers gentle, holistic support for your recovery after birth — helping you heal physically, balance hormones, and feel more grounded during the transition to motherhood.

Common Reasons for Postpartum Acupuncture:

  • Fatigue & Low Energy

  • Hormonal Support

  • Postpartum Anxiety or Depression Support

  • Low Milk Supply

  • Night Sweats or Hot Flashes

  • Body Aches, Back Pain, or Joint Discomfort

  • Digestive Issues

  • Headaches & Migraines

“In childbirth and delivery, acupuncture has been reported to be beneficial for inducing labor, shortening the time of labor, avoiding post-term dates, and reducing postpartum bleeding.”

According to a systematic review published by the Cochrane Library, weekly acupuncture has been shown to reduce the likelihood of medical interventions including the need for a cesarean section.

"Following each acupuncture treatment, the volume of milk increased within several hours, measured as residual milk after breastfeeding. Also, the milk was released from both breasts after the first acupuncture session and this bilateral maternal milk production was sustained during the rest of lactation."
